Strong and solid, I like that the wood is end cut. There is room for many knives and, also, for kitchen shears and a sharpening steel. It is so much better than having knives in drawers where they are a hazard and it is bad for the knives.

I use my cast iron skillets a lot. I have had splatter screens that just never quite suited. The large size of this one covers even my very large skillets. The long handle is great and the little feet help to keep my counter clean when I need to set it down. It is easy to clean and can go in my dishwasher.

I have used many different kinds of rugs and mats in my kitchen over the years. The braided rugs were hard to clean. The foam mats stuck to the floor and stained my wood floor. The Gel Pro mat is great. It cleans easily. It does not damage the floor. It feels so good that I bought another one so that I could have one in front of the sink and another in front of the stove.

The Compost Countertop Keeper looks so much better than the bowls, plates, etc. that I have been using to hold my kitchen compost until I could take it out to the backyard. I hesitated at first to buy the Compost Pail Liners. I am so glad that I did! It makes it so easy to compost the kitchen scraps. When it is really cold, I do not have to walk all the way to the compost pile every time. One more good way to go green!

Finally - the right thermometer!

At last, I can check the temperature of what is in the oven without enduring the heat. This is truly an instant read thermometer. I especially like that it turns off when you close it or after a few minutes on non-use. It also has a chart for suggested meat tempertures. A bit pricey, I am glad that I finally treated myself.

This is a good cover for my Kitchen Aid Mixer. Keeps it clean. My only problem is the choice of colors. None really suit my kitchen. I thought the rust would but it has too much orange. My accent color in the kitchen is green - sometimes a hard color to accommodate. I would return it for another color but I do not want to pay a $10.50 restocking fee.
