This pan gets washed and put back on the stove. It doesn't ever see the inside of the cabinet. It is a permanent fixture in the kitchen. I either wilt spinach, boil water for hard boiled eggs for sandwiches, or make a wonderful batch of oatmeal for the family, or gently cook chicken in cream sauce or you can throw together some wonderfully fresh soups in small batches for the freezer..I make a brie soup that requires absolute distribution of gentle heat...this pan can do this.....it just seems to do it all. The heat distributes beautifully and the iron core allows me to cook at a lower heat with more control over the outcome.... and more vitamins! It just doesn't get any better than this...and I have had expensive copper pans with silver lining. This pan cleans up instantly and is ready for whatever I need to cook next. I even cook steak in olive oil over low heat in it and it comes out wonderfully tender and juicy. Give it as a wedding gift EVERYONE needs this pan!
