This attractive baking stone is really a great alternative to the traditional stone. It doesn't stain, you can cut on it, and it is attractive enough to serve on. Plus - it seems to act just like a normal stone. I've retired my old, stained pizza stone to the top shelf in my other oven as a "heat sink" and now have the Emile Henry in my baking oven.

This is a well-built, well-designed appliance. Pros that attracted me to this product include temperature controls for both grill and griddle mode, the open-flat ability to double your griddle area, and the top which swings freely to accomodate any thickness of grilled meat. The only Con I have come across is that when cooking fatty meats like bacon, the small drain at the back of the lower plate is not big enough, causing run-over at other areas of the plate. I've worked around this by assuring that the plate is flat or slightly slanted toward the back (when cooking this type of meat) and making sure that there is a path across the back for grease to run toward the center. Otherwise, I am very impressed with the product.

I bought this Fagor multi-cooker instead of a rice cooker that I was looking at. So far I have been very pleased with cooking plain rice (in 6 minutes), an italian rice dish, chicken soup, and other things using the pressure and slow cook features. What I particularly like is the quick cleanup afterward. The unit is well built, easy to use, and very attractive.
