These knives are amazing. My husband wanted a Global chef's knife for Christmas, so I looked into getting a set for him. This set was well-priced and came with a block, so I chose it. The block takes up a LOT of counter space, and only holds the knives it comes with, which are negatives. I was pretty sure we wouldn't be getting more Global knives anytime soon, so the number of knives it holds wasn't an issue, but I probably wouldn't have chosen this block if there had been a visual that showed just how much space it takes up. It's very wide at the bottom.
