I've had my slicer for 3 weeks, and wanted to get some experience with it before reviewing it. I really like it...there are only a couple things about it I would like to see improved: The Good: - Is stable and well-built, and feels like it will last for years. - Very easy to operate, I like the guards which reduce any chance of getting fingers cut or in the way of the blade. - Cuts from very thick to very thin. I used it to slice larger pieces of Ham (thick slices) to very thin (shaved) ham, turkey and roast beef for sandwiches. - Blade has excellent guard around it, which doubled with the slicer tray guards protect the user from the blades. - Easy to take apart to clean. Clean up was easy and quick. Easy to put back together. Could Improve: - A 1"-2" larger blade would be nice. Even a turkey breast and small ham needed to be cut in 1/2 to be able to cut through for slices. - The blade depth gauge (on the back of the machine to adjust the depth of cut) should have a "lock" to lock it in place after setting. If you push a little too hard on the meat you can dislodge the setting and get thicker cuts. - The machine is stable, but additional stabilization for larger cuts of meat would be nice. I used a cutting board behind the machine (between the machine and the counter top back splash) to keep the machine from "sliding" - again, possibly from pressing on the meat a little too hard. But, stabilization or non-skid base would be nice. - Tray for catching meat is good for smaller cuts of meat; could be a bit bigger, but it does the job.
Overall I really like the machine; not as much power as I thought it would have, but enough to do for most home use.
