These shears are extraordinarily well made and easier to clean than any others I have seen. They are very sturdy, sharp, and disassemble in seconds. Each half is machined from solid, surgical stainless-steel. The surfaces are polished to prevent any cracks or crevices for contamination. This is an important consideration when handling poultry. One downside to this construction is that the handles can get slippery so it is best to hold them in one hand and use the other to handle the bird. Otherwise...well you get the idea. Frankly this is a minor annoyance compared to the overall excellence of these shears. A friend saw mine, tried them and was equally impressed. Guess what she is getting for Christmas. These are terrific.

Interestingly enough men seem to like these better than women. My wife and daughter are not alone in finding this unit awkward to use. The lid and locking mechanism, necessary for safety and easy enough for a man's larger hands, seems balky and awkward for many women. Both the Kitchen Aid and the newer series from Cuisinart seem better from this perspective. This same locking mechanism and top are difficult to clean. Things that tend to stick and dry can be very difficult to clean up if they are allowed to set up. After slicing mushrooms, for example, clean the top and bowl immediately. If you forget the dishwasher seems to work better than trying to wash these parts by hand. With that said, this is still be best food processor that I have had the pleasure to use. It has a powerful motor, large capacity, and has never failed to get the job done. As other reviewers have said, leave it on the counter as it will then get used constantly. Some people think a small processor is better for small jobs, but I find this one is all I need. A second bowl can really speed things up at times. I also strongly recommend the accessory holder.

Frankly if I had to root around in a cupboard or drawer to find the accessories, I probably would not use my food processor almost daily. This holder sits right on the counter. Wonderful. It is safer, too, as the cutting discs are sharp and this holder protects them and your fingers. I agree with the reviewer who complained about the lock, it is not a good design. I defeated it by locking it closed with the lid up so it is not ever engaged. The lid does not need to be locked for a unit that sits in one spot anyway. From a safety and convenience point of view this holder is a must have.

Although this review covers the saute pan, mine is a 6-quart, what I really want to cover is the finish. I have both some MC2 and some all stainless. I like the MC2 better. It is not as shiny of course, but heat-up is faster and more uniform. The inside cleans up the same. The MC2 is slightly more affordable. Next, the handle design. There are several other brands of cookware available that are excellent, but All-Clad handles work for both small hands and large. They are long and offer excellent leverage for picking up a full pan. Larger pans often are fitted with a loop handle to facilitate control. The lids fit snugly. My large saute pan probably gets more use than any other pan. They are excellent for so many things from sauteing onions or other veggies, to browning even a large roast before roasting. When a big gang needs feeding this pan can handle a lot of grub. It also offers a nice alternative to a wok for stir-frying. All-Clad is not cheap, but these are really lifetime pans. We now have given sets to our children and have equipped both our house and vacation home with them. There are no better pans at any price.

I bought two of these for charcoal grilling. They make it safe and easy to pick up and move a hot grill to add charcoal. The grill thermometer can say 450 degrees and these mitts still protect my hands for as long as needed. They allow me to reach right in to pick up a roast with total control and without the danger of burns. They also clean right up and can even be put in the dishwasher. The cloth or leather ones get pretty dirty around charcoal cooking. The only caveat to these is that they are soft, pliable, synthetic rubber and could be easily damaged by a sharp object. Don't use them to shuck oysters, or when using a knife and this is not a problem.

After years of throwing away rotten onions and potatoes because I couldn't use them fast enough, I learned that onions and potatoes can't be stored together. Placing them in two separate kitchen drawers was inconvienient and took up a lot of space. Then Chef's offered these pottery containers. I bought the set and could not be happier. The only drawback is that the onion container is a wee bit smaller than I would like it to be. It would be better if it were the same size as the potatoe container. I use a lot of garlic and can't imagine ever filling this one, so it is bigger than necessary. These keep my pantry clean and orderly, there has been no lost food since buying them and they are well priced. Highly recommended.

First of all, the Twin Four-Star has been around for many years and this latest version retains the superb feel and balance that have made these knives the choice of many chefs. A Santoku is an alternative to the more familiar Chef's Knife. The edge of the blade is almost flat with very little rocker. The blade on a good Santoku is also somewhat thinner than the blade on a similar sized Chef's knife. For slicing, especially for delicate and thin work, the Santoku is a better tool than a chef's knife. For dicing and chopping, though, I still prefer my Chef's knife by a narrow margin. If I could only have one it would be this Twin Four-Star Santoku. Finally consider the granton blade. That is the hollow ground blade with scalloped recesses. This format is supposed to be less likely to stick in dense food. The granton was originally developed for carving knives and for that purpose they are nice if not strictly necessary. For a working knife in the kitchen, though, I think grantons offer no real advantage and they are definitely not worth the extra cost. All in all, though, this knife is the first one I want for most tasks in the kitchen. It is simply the best knife I own.

These peelers have been around for years and they are so easy to use compared to any other design that it is no wonder. They are very sharp and tend to take off a fairly wide, thick peel. Excellent for tough, thick skinned vegetables and fruits like squash, or apples, or baker potatoes. For delicate skinned things like peaches for example, the other peeler to have is an OXO.
