I got an email a few months back, advertising some of CHEFS Catalog's new products. I saw the burger press, and thought it might be a nice kitchen tool, but I put the purchase on hold and forgot about it. Then CHEFS sent me an email with a free shipping offer that I could not pass up. I went onto the CHEFS website and read the reviews. Most users seemed to like the product ALOT, which was quite amazing, so I thought, "Why not give it a try?!" I ordered both the Large and Mini size presses. I was anxious the day that I received the products and couldn't wait to try them out. We had hamburgers that night. I am happy to say that this was the first time ever that making burgers was a breeze! My husband mixed the ground beef with spices, and we were ready to go. He made Large burger patties, while I made Mini burger patties, which are perfect because he and I like 1/2 lb burgers while our daughter and his mother like 3 oz sliders. Armed with these burger presses, we whipped out 3 lbs of burger patties in 15 minutes, assembly line style. Making burgers was never so quick or neat! Usually, it takes 3 times as much time just to press the patties by hand, and the shape never holds while cooking. The presses can be a bit difficult if your hands are greasy from the ground beef, but once you get the hang of it, it's not hard. We found that using a kitchen countertop lined with aluminum foil was more sanitary and easier to clean up. The trick to using the patty press is pressing the ground beef patty down firmly on the surface to get rid of the air bubbles. In our case, our surface was the aluminum foil-lined countertop. When the air bubbles are eliminated, a suction is created. Unlock the press and gently push the patty out as you pull up the press from the surface and the patty comes out easily and neatly. This product gets 4 thumbs up from our family!!!

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my parents, because they like to keep their food scraps in a plastic bag for later use as compost in their garden. Unfortunately, after a period of time, fruit flies start to appear in their kitchen and the stench starts to become noticeable. After I gave this to them, they used it right away and have been using it non-stop. I guess it must work very well.
Frigoverre Glass Pitcher : Made of hygienic glass that allows you to view contents easily and configured in space-saving shapes, Frigoverre's tight-fitting lids seal in freshness and keep odors out. Dishwasher-safe. Craftsmen of fine glassware since 1825, Bormioli Rocco formulates superior glass to create exceptional serveware for restaurant and home use. Continuous investment in research, development and state-of-the-art technology preserves Bormioli's prominence in the industry.
This is an excellent pitcher. As one reviewer stated, the handle is strong and very easy to grip, and the seal on the lid is airtight. I have started replacing all of our plastic storage containers with glass containers, because of the new research proving contaminants leaking into food and drinks because of the plastic used. These Frigoverre glass pitchers, including the large 68 oz. size, fit nicely on the door of my smallest fridge, which is the size of a "dorm" fridge. When I first purchased them, I only ordered one each of the 36 and 68 oz sizes. I used them and loved them so much that I bought another 68 oz pitcher! I also like the fact that you *can* take apart the lid pieces and wash them separately so that no liquid residue builds up on it creating mold or unpleasant odor.

Bamboo Paradise Serveware Lazy Susan

I just recently purchased the entire bamboo paradise serveware set. They are beautiful! These pieces were sturdier and larger than I had expected. They would match wonderfully in any kitchen with an Asian or tropical motif. The only complaint that I have about the lazy susan is that it would have been nice to have the wood base be made of bamboo (instead of oak) - to be true to the "bamboo" name and complete the bamboo look. Otherwise, I have had no problems with this piece.
