I was given this as a Christmas present (2009) and as a replacement for my Artisian mixer that I've had for years. I loved the Artisian mixer, except when it came to kneading bread. The Artisian would severly shimmy across the counter. I would have to physically hold it down. The motor would slow quite a bit, struggle, and get very hot. It did everything else wonderfully. I made Challah using my new mixer. WOW...what a difference. The mixer barely moved. I left the room and let it knead. Absolutly no problems. The dough hook for this mixer looks like it's twice as big as the Artisian dough hook. It has an adjustable screw incase the beaters don't reach the bottom of the bowl, or if they come too far down. The bowl is nice and wide making it super easy to put in ingredients. It's pretty too. I have the Nickle Pearl. I previously had the Empire Red, which I loved. My only grip was that it would look dirty very quickly and would get spotty because of the shiny finish. The Nickle Pearl is very pretty. This mixer is a bit big, but fits fine in my small kitchen which has almost no counter space. I love love love love this mixer.

Got this as a wedding present. This is a monster of a pan. It is heavy and huge. I don't use this stockpot often, but when I do it performs well. I find it too heavy to use for pasta on a regular basis, for only 2 people. If I were feeding more, then this would be fantastic. I usually use it to make stock. I can fit two 3 1/2 lb chickens in there, along with the veg. Not using the strainer of course. The strainer works great when I need to make larger amounts of pasta. The pan is very heavy duty and durable. It's size and weight does make it hard to clean by hand (I don't have a dishwasher), and a little hard to store. I would reccomend it, but I think for my needs the regular stockpot would have been fine.

I bought this pan for 2 reasons. First, I was in need of a bigger pan that had a flat bottom. I had been using the All-Clad Chefs Pan. Second, the price was a lot less than the All-Clad Fry or Saute Pans. Overall this is a great pan. It has a large capacity, heats fairly evenly on my small burners, and I get great fond. I use this pan very often. The cons for me are that it doesn't come with a lid, and because of it's odd size, 13" as opposed to 12", other lids don't fit. I end up using foil to cover, which usually works. The handle is at a strange angle, making it really hard to move the pan around or pour anything out of it. If it had a helper handle, this would be much easier, but it doesn't. Risotto usually comes out good, but I feel like I have to really keep an eye on it because that extra 1" allows for a lot more evaporation. I can fiit a 4lb chicken in the pan, cut up, or a 3lb-er spit open. The biggest down fall of this pan is the angle of the handle. With the non-existant lid coming in second. Other than that it's a great pan.

This was one of my first All-Clad pans. Being new to the kitchen, I didn't know what kind of pans I would need. I used this one for a few years, and it has it's pros and cons. This pan heats up well, is easy to clean, and the helper handle is great. But, because it is a combo pan/wok the flat cooking surface is really small causing things to steam instead of sear/saute. This is definatly not an essential pan. Now that I have a more typical saute/fry pan, I never use this one. I keep it around, just in-case, but haven't used it in almost a year. It also takes up a lot of space in the cupboard. Because of it's dome shape, it's hard to stack it with other pans, and the dome lid doesn't fit in my lid holder.

All-Clad Stainless-Steel Fry Pan
All-Clad Stainless-Steel Fry Pan : From a wide,
flat base, the sides of this pan curve up and out,
making it easy to flip or turn foods as they cook.
Designed for quick cooking in a small amount of oil or
butter, the fry pan is also great for browning and
sauteing. The 8" size is ideal for one or two
servings, or for small tasks such as sauteing chopped
onion or mushrooms for another dish. The 10"
size is perfect for three to four servings, to pan-fry
up to three burgers, or to make a generous omelet for
two. The 12" pan is well-suited for family-size
portions of meats or side dishes such as stir-fried
broccoli rabe or pan-fried potatoes. The 14"
extra-large pan is ideal for pan-frying or searing good
cuts of beef and has a helper handle; we especially like
it for making steak au poivre. Also great for making a
big batch of potato latkes. All-Clad's leading

I own the 8" S.S. Fry Pan and love it. I use it mostly for eggs, usually scrambled for 2. The pan heats evenly, and can get really hot. Infact, my husband burnt the pan, leaving the interior with stuck on black stuff. I wasn't sure what to do, so I scraped it with a knife....which got some of it off. I ended up using a stainless steel cleaner and a little elbow grease. I got most of it off, but there are still a few bits of black. The black stuff hasn't had an effect on the pans performance. I have just ordered the 12", and can't wait for it to arrive.
