I really love the sturdy make of this cooker. I've never had one before and had no idea how to use it or what to expect.
The big hurdle for me was taking the time to READ how to use it. I wanted to jump in there and USE it asap!
Once I started reading it started to make sense, the flashing red light where the time is, how to set the timer, etc.
I think I used too much water (1 1/2 C) for my 5 lb pork roast, but it turned out wonderfully! I browned the meat on all sides with olive oil with lid OFF...that was hard for me to understand until I finally came across it in the manual.
I cut-up onions, the water and my roast and put the lid on. Set the pressure level and time and for 99 mins I enjoyed the countdown. Once roast was done I waited about 20 mins to be able to open lid. I had new potatoes and baby carrots to add, closed lid and set for high pressure and timed at 10 mins. Once pressure was off and lid opened it was heavenly from then on. My husband has Sjogrens Syndrome and needs MOIST food to be able to swallow it easily. I love this cooker and will experiment with numerous recipes when I have time..Deer season is coming in few mths and we're both bow hunters...hummm, some venison in the cooker sounds great! I was somewhat surprised tht it took 99 mins to do the roast. I thought that was about as long if not longer than conventional ovens..?
My Favorite Brandany kind that is made well

I wanted to be able to use my real butter in the stick form, without having to worry about returning it to the frig when done with it, or worrying about spreading those hard chunks of butter...so this is a great idea.
I, like another reviewer, wish the inside of the upper lid was finished and smooth, even with a glaze on it. The lid sort of cheapens the rest of the butter boat. It's too lightweight compared to the rest, the knob is hard to lift the lid with, without almost dropping it, and the knob needs to be taller to be albe to get your thumb and forefinger around it to lift it up.
otherwise, I do like the concept of this butter dish.

Although it took 10 days to arrive (winter storm in CO, etc) I was so very exciting when my Zojirushi came! It is a very well built machine. I had to laugh when using it for the first time and my husband jumped up to go to the utility room to 'fix the washer'. In actuality, the breadmaker was in the knead phase! It is alittle thumping noise that I love to hear, it made me realize the machine was doing its job.
I first made the basic white bread and it turned out great, alittle on the big side and my husband pointed out that I had used 1/4 t. yeast more than necessary, although I went by the recipe I needed to be aware of the grams beside the measurements as well.
We had delayed our morning breakfast until the bread was done and oh how good it tasted with eggs and bacon! real butter spread all over our large slices of bread was a treat for us! I'm looking forward to making the lemon pound cake and raisin bread also.
